Weatherstone Park - New Berlin, WI

It was a gloomy, snow-melting kind of day when I stopped at Weatherstone Park in New Berlin.  The 8-acre community park is located in a residential neighborhood, with family-friendly amenities.  I parked along the street, crossed over a curb-full of slushy snow, and walked around.

The paved walking path leads to a gazebo style shelter, with picnic tables, and a large children's play area.  Just ahead is a soccer field, and just beyond that a basketball court.  If you're in the mood to walk a nature trail, there is a short looping nature trail through the woods on the park perimeter.  On this day, thanks to melting snow, there were a couple small ephemeral ponds along the walking trail.

There are several park benches, a barbecue grill, and a Little Free Library, too.  On dryer, warmer days, this would be a great spot to spend an afternoon with a picnic lunch, a good book, or letting the kids burn off some energy on the playground.

Dogs are permitted on-leash, and must be cleaned up after.
