Korth Park - Lake Mills, WI
Korth County Park is an 89 acre gem near Lake Mills, in Jefferson County. Just over an hour west of Milwaukee, and bordering Rock Lake, the park features running/walking trails through prairie, woodlands, and along a portion of the lake as well (there are nice views of the lake here, but no direct access to the lake ). The trail along the lake connects to the Glacial Drumlin trail as well.
During winter months the trails are groomed for cross country skiing, and the hill to the east of the Korth Pavilion is great for sledding. The pavilion itself is available for rentals. Restrooms are available during summer months, with a port-a-potty on site otherwise.
Bird watching is great here. In addition to songbirds in woodland and prairie, there is a tall Osprey nest that borders the lake each
spring. Bring your binoculars and you can view the Osprey and their young from a safe distance.
Dogs are allowed in the park as long as they are on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
There are two parking areas. The first is at the main entrance off or Korth Lane. The second is near the community gardens
along Elm Point Road (which is a dead end). The trail to the Glacial Drumlin Trail picks up across the street from this second entrance.
Location: W8390 Korth Lane, Lake Mills, WI (Jefferson County)
