Homestead Hollow County Park - Germantown, WI
Another gem in Washington County. Homestead Hollow is 105 acres of gorgeous. It may not be the biggest park around, but it has plenty to offer. In addition to great picnic spots, a children's playground, and peaceful views, there is plenty of trail hiking, good birding, winter sports offerings such as cross country skiing, ice skating, and sledding. Other sporting offerings are fishing, horseshoes, basketball, soccer fields, and sand volleyball courts (bring your own net and volleyball). There are some nice and easy paved walking trails, as well as some hillier ones through the woods. The day we visited the wooded trails were still very, very muddy. So, bring a spare pair of shoes or some mud boots. Once an old farmstead, the old red barns have been converted into four reservable shelters. Got a family picnic coming up? This would be a great spot for it.
