Johnstone Park - Oak Creek, wI
Johnstone Park is a 12-acre multi-use park in a residential neighborhood in Oak Creek. On a recent, sunny winter day, we walked the half-mile paved trail that looped around the park. Though a good six inches of fresh snow covered most of the park, the paved trail was well plowed, and an easy walk.
The park includes an open-air shelter with picnic tables, and a view in all directions. Also featured are a children's playground, softball diamonds, and a sand volleyball court. There is a pond along the west side of the park, along with a nature study area along the park perimeter. We were lucky and spotted a small flock of American Robins eating from the crabapple trees, along with a Fox Sparrow, and a Cedar Waxwing. I have a feeling it's a pleasant spot to do a bit of bird watching during warmer seasons.
Parking is street only.
Hours: 6am - 10pm
Dogs Allowed, on-leash.
No restrooms or other amenities.
Location: 6750 S. 24th Street, Oak Creek, WI (Milwaukee County)
