Biwer Park - New Berlin, WI
A sunny Sunday afternoon is a good day to spend some time at Biwer Park, in New Berlin. This 7.9 acre park is located in the east-central area of New Berlin. A neighborhood park, it's family friendly, with a new children's playground, basketball court, baseball diamond, a volleyball pit, a grill, and an open-air picnic shelter. Pack some snacks and take the kids. They'll have plenty of fun.
If you're looking for a bit of peace, just beyond the covered shelter, is a woodland nature trail (about 1/3 mile). An easy trail, with park benches to relax on, while listening to the birds call from above. In the short time I was there I spotted red-bellied woodpeckers, a white-breasted nuthatch, and chickadees. No doubt it's a pleasant birding spot during migration and nesting season. And a great spot to spend some time with a good book, if you're so inclined.
Hours: Open daily, dawn to dusk
Parking: Street Parking Only
Dogs are permitted on-leash
Location: 3495 S. Sandalwood Drive, New Berlin, WI (Waukesha County)
