Pike Lake State Park - Hartford, WI
Pike Lake State Park is 522-acres in the heart of Washington and Dodge counties. Part of the northern Kettle Moraine State Forest, it features nine miles of hiking trails, some easy, some steep and challenging. Summertime adventure can be had at the beautiful swimming beach, along with camping, day hikes, and educational park programs that are fun for the whole family.
The nature trails are great for bird watching. A half-mile, all-accessible boardwalk trail is available, and features an observation deck along the lakeshore. An observation tower near the peak of Powder Hill Trail provides a spectacular panoramic view from the second-highest point in southeastern Wisconsin.
Campground offerings: There are 32 campsites, 24 wooded, 8 open. There are 11 sites with electrical hook-ups. Availability: Early April through the third weekend in October.
There are also 3 primitive backpacking campsites available along the connecting Ice Age Trail, open year-round.
The park is open year-round, Daily 6am to 11pm.
Admission: Wisconsin state park sticker required
Pets allowed, but must be on-leash.
