frontier park - butler, wi
Many thanks to Barbara, friend of TheParkNextDoor, for telling me about Frontier Park in Butler. Located behind an industrial park, this local gem borders the scenic Menomonee River. There are picnic areas, baseball fields, and an upper and lower park area.
The walking trail along the river at the lower part of the park is an easy walk, and so very scenic. There are points along the way where you can step out onto the sand and view the river from the water in either direction. The walking path loops back toward the baseball field. There's a bridge from the lower part of the park to the upper part. The view from the bridge is lovely.
The Upper Frontier Park area features baseball fields, a basketball court, tennis courts, and a tot lot playground. The newer Village of Butler Community Building is also located at this site, and is available for rental. Entrance to the upper park area can be found via 127th Street.
Open Daily, Admission Free.
Location: 5400 N. Park Drive, Butler, WI (Waukesha County)
