Beulah Bluff Preserve - East Troy, WI
Just minutes away from nearby Beulah Bog, Beulah Bluff Preserve, is an 8-acre nature preserve that is part of the Kettle Moraine Land Trust. The property was purchased in 2012 from owners Bill and Kathy Tarman-Ramcheck, who wished to share the beauty of the property with the local community. The family vision was further realized by Eric Tarman-Ramcheck, who was heavily involved in the restoration of the property to include native open prairie, removing invasive species, and reseeding native plants and other species.
The bluff overlooks Beulah Lake, and is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. A viewing deck was built along the bluff in 2014. A looped nature trail winds through the property past the prairie and through a small oak woodland. It's a great spot for birdwatching, and a quiet afternoon of nature exploration.
Special nature events are occasionally hosted at the property by Kettle Moraine Land Trust. The entrance up to the bluff is a winding gravel road. In winter the gate is closed to vehicle traffic, though there is room for two vehicles in front of the gate for walk-ins. Cross-country skiing, winter hiking, and snowshoeing are permitted on site. Bow hunting is permitted in-season, with permit only. Contact KMLT for more information.
