Malone Park - New Berlin, WI
Malone Park, an 85 acre park in New Berlin, is rich in amenities like a baseball diamond, basketball court, sand volleyball courts, soccer field, softball, you name it. Sporting activities are covered! They even have a lighted skating rink in winter.
There is a picnic shelter for rent, as well as a gazebo, that is often used for open air concerts during the warmer months.
I was most interested in the walking trail, which did not disappoint. An easy going trail, it clocked in at just over a mile of trees, creek, flowers, plenty of green, and a nice variety of birds. The trail entrance is a short distance from the gazebo, near the parking lot, and is labeled "Green Loop Trail". Green, it is!
Update: The Green Loop Trail was dedicated to, and named for, previous New Berlin Mayor Timothy K. Tully. Mayor Tully served two terms in office, from 1985 - 1993. A dedication ceremony was held in his honor on June 5, 2021.
Location: 16400 W. Al Stigler Parkway, New Berlin, WI (Waukesha County)
