rotary park - menomonee falls

Rotary Park is a 36-acre community park along the Menomonee River on the east side of Menomonee Falls. We visited the park on a recent warm spring-like afternoon, along with lots of other folks entertaining spring fever.  Kids played at the playground, and families and friends walked the paved trails that span the park from end to end. 

Crossing the bridge from one side of the park to the other, the view of the flowing river sparkled in the afternoon sun.  The paved trails follow along the the river, framed by trees on either side.  Robins, Song Sparrows, and Chickadees darted in and out of bushes. Red-bellied Woodpeckers hammered and called from the treetops. This will be a good birdwatching spot!

Hiking and biking are popular here. The multipurpose paved trails are ADA accessible. Dogs are permitted on-leash.  There are two rentable outdoor shelters, and a separate restroom.  Other features include a kids play area, volleyball courts, and softball fields.  Picnic areas, and benches along the trails are available, too.  It's easy to see why this park is a local favorite!
