Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area - Horicon, WI
This was one of my dad's favorite places, and I now truly know why. It's a primary stop for migrating ducks and geese, but it also sports all kinds of bird life: sandhill cranes, hawks, owls, swallows, warblers, woodpeckers, herons, and so many more. The boardwalk trail is a popular stop, and rewards with beautiful views. Trails are well marked and groomed, flowers and trees are plenty, and the information area offers loads of information. Believe what you hear. And bring your camera.
