Indianhead Park - Mukwonago, WI
Indianhead Park may not be the biggest park in Mukwonago, but it packs a lot of fun into its 8 acres. Located along the Mukwonago River, water is a primary part of recreation. Here you'll find a sandy beach and swimming hole, extremely popular with the local kids during the summer months. A simple dock adds to the fun, safe to jump from (but no diving) in the shallow water. I confess, I took a stroll along the sandy shore and it was so refreshing! Shoreline fishing is popular here, too, and there are quiet spots to enjoy along the expanse of the park. Note: No lifeguards on duty.
A new children's playground area was recently added. There are picnic tables, and plenty of park benches. Lots of native wildflowers line the shoreline - purple coneflower, joe pye weed, brown-eyed susan and more blooming under summer skies. Biking/Walking trails make their way through the park. And there is plenty of open green space for throwing a ball, frisbee, or just relaxing with a good book.
The park is also home to a recently completed new performance stage - the Phantom Junction Stage. Concerts and other events are hosted here throughout the year. Check out their calendar for more details. Shelters are available for rental as well.
Another notable item: The East Troy Railroad Museum Tours pass through the park on a regular basis. For information on their tours, visit their website.
Park Hours: Open Daily, 7am - 9pm
Dogs are NOT allowed in Mukwonago parks.
