Bald Bluff Nature Trail - Palmyra, WI
Bald Bluff was named, originally, for the lack of trees on the hilltop. Over many, many years the terrain has changed, there are lots of trees. But there is plenty of prairie as well. The 3.5 miles hike (up and back) is steep and rocky, so good hiking shoes are recommended. Once at the crest, songbirds sing from the top of the trees, and the views from the hilltop are stellar. Kettle Moraine surrounds the hill for miles. After the workout of this trail, treat yourself to a walk through nearby Paradise Springs Nature Trail. The trails are easier and the spring provides a cool spot to chill in the shade.
