Pheasant Branch Conservancy - Middleton, WI
Pheasant Branch is a definite birding hotspot in Wisconsin. We did not see as many birds as I would have liked, but I blame the lateness of the season, and the time of day. Even so, the trails are well marked, and it is a popular spot for hikers, birders, runners and nature lovers alike. We plan to go back earlier in the year, and at a better time of day. I can't wait to see what we'll discover.
July, 2014: We paid another visit to Pheasant Branch. Discovered the Prairie Trails. Beautiful. We visited the natural springs, a place almost magical. Birds of all kinds flocked together to bathe in the spring. Sing their songs. It was captivating. I didn't want to leave. It was definitely worth the return trip.
