Scout Lake Park - Greendale, WI
I was looking for a nature area near Oak Creek and couldn't find it. On the way back home I found Scout Lake Park instead. I'm so glad that I did. Scout Lake is 64 acres, featuring a beautiful lake, complete with a fishing pier, lots of tree-lined walking trails, birds, waterfowl, and offers scenic beauty in all seasons.
The walking path around the lake clocks in at a half-mile loop. It's a good winter walking spot, too, as the paved trail surrounding the lagoon is generally cleared.
There is a tot lot/play area on site, as well as reservable picnic areas, and a park pavilion. It's a great bird-watching spot, too!
Hours: Open Daily, 6am - 10pm.
Dogs permitted, on-leash.
Location: 5902 W. Loomis Rd. Greendale, WI (Milwaukee County)
