C. D. Besadny Fish and Wildlife Area - Kewaunee, WI
We were looking for the Ahnapee State Trail but we drove by the C. D. (Buzz) Besadny Fish and Wildlife Area, and never made it to Ahnapee. Besadny is a 2,632 acre property located in Kewaunee County. Find it west of Kewaunee with many access points. The property is comprised mostly of forest, wetlands, river (warm water), stream (cold water) and grasslands.
Beautiful trails, lots of birds, dragonflies, and recreational fishing. To be honest, we got a little lost and went the wrong way on the Ice Age Trail, but the walk was beautiful, and we didn't get too far before some kind locals corrected our error. We saved the Ahnapee State Trail for another visit.
Location: Town of West Kewaunee, Hiking Entrance at meeting of Church Road and East Townline Road (Kewaunee County)
