Faville Grove Sanctuary - Lake Mills, WI
Songbirds, wild grasses, trees, a pond. Faville Grove Sanctuary is a gift of nature managed by a team of volunteers, and the Madison Audubon Organization. Includes more than 300 acres of restored prairie and wetlands and 40 acres of savanna and open oak woodlands. The day we visited, we met up with one of the sanctuary managers, and were welcomed warmly and personally. It was clear that he, and the volunteers that tend to the preserve, are passionate about it. That passion is reflected in the beauty of the land and its inhabitants. Definitely worth the trip.
