Nixon Park - Hartland, WI
Nixon Park is a charming local park nestled in the downtown center of Hartland. Residing on over 18 acres of land donated by local physician, Dr. H.G.B. Nixon, and his wife, Antoinette, you'll find something for just about everyone. Scenic walking trails (wheelchair accessible) around the pond, which is fed by the Bark River. A children's playground, and a children's splash pad, the perfect refresher to hot summer days. The Bark River winds along the park, and is a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts of all ages.
Lots of picnic tables dot the park, benches, too. Have a seat and just take in the view. Looking to get a workout - there are four tennis courts, and soccer and baseball fields. Four open air shelters are scattered throughout the park. Restrooms as well.
On site you will find the Hartland Fine Arts Center, which features free music programs throughout the summer. There are some benches towards the front of the stage, first come, first serve, or just bring your own lawn chair or blanket and get comfortable and enjoy the show.
