Parry Spring - Dousman, WI
Once part of the Waukesha Parry Family Dairy Farm, the Parry Spring lives on long after the family farm closed. This natural artesian well is located along the side of Parry Road in Dousman. The day we went we waited our turn while several other folks filled gallon jugs and more, water pouring quickly from the spout. Cyclists stopped by to fill up water bottles, and continued on their way.
There is no sign, but the road juts out on either side of the barrel covered spring. Woodlands and private homes line the road, with plenty of green on display on a hot summer day. If you're looking for a bit of a nature walk, check out the UW-Waukesha Field Station, which is just minutes away on Waterville Road.
