ROLLING MEADOWS PARK - brookfield, wi
An unusually warm, sunny, late February afternoon tempted me out to check out a new (to me) park. Located in suburban Brookfield, Rolling Meadows Park is a 63-acre neighborhood park connected to wetlands. The park features a pond that is used for ice skating, weather permitting.
There's a short walking path past the pond and into the woodlands. For a longer walk, head to the end of the block and pick up the paved and boardwalked trail that passes over the wetlands. Although it was quiet today, I expect it's a very active park for birds and water fowl during warmer seasons.
Plenty of trees, some picnic tables and benches for sitting. It would make a great picnic spot, or a quiet space to relax and enjoy with a good book. Plenty of grassy areas for kids to run and play. It looks to be popular as a nice dog walking spot, too.
Location: 18705 W. Tamarack Drive, Brookfield, WI (Waukesha County)
