QUAAS CREEK PARK - WEST BEND, WI
Quaas Creek Park in West Bend is a 65 acre multi-use community park. We recently visited for the first time on a warm, sunny, June afternoon. Being a weekday it was quiet, very peaceful, and so green!
If you're looking for nature, you'll love the walking trails. There are over 2 miles of them, a mix of curved paved and boardwalk trails. Loved the boardwalks! The trails will lead you through woodlands and over wetlands, and to an opening on the Milwaukee River and a canoe launch. Plenty of trees, native plants and wildflowers (willows, ferns, mayapple and bloodroot).
A variety of sport fields and courts are featured here, including: 3 softball diamonds, a basketball court, and 5 permanent pickleball courts. A children's playground with swings, a rock climbing wall, and merry-go-round offers fun for the kids, with an accompanying open air shelter.
A community building/concession stand, and additional open air shelter are available for rentals.
If you're a birdwatcher, you'll find a nice variety of birds here. There were several kildeer, red-bellied woodpeckers, flycatchers, cowbirds, robins, and more.
Hours: Daily, 6am - 11pm
Parking: Multiple Parking Lots
Location: 2500 Country Creek Circle, West Bend, WI (Washington County)
