nature is for every body
The beauty of the natural world should be accessible to all. Getting out into nature can be a greater challenge to those with physical disabilities. Whether the challenge is temporary, due to an injury or surgery, or to a permanent disability, there are accessible green spaces in Wisconsin to explore, and enjoy the change of seasons. Following are 12 worth visiting, along with links to other helpful resources.
Nature Accessibility Resources
Many of Milwaukee County Parks, and other community parks, feature paved trails around ponds and lagoons, which are accessible, other than during icy, inclement weather. Many of them are plowed during the winter months as well.
Wisconsin State Parks offer many all-accessible features, including ADA accessible trails, playgrounds, and camping cabins. Further information, along with a State Park Accessibility Map can be found online.
