Ahhh, lavender. The scent of it is so heady and relaxing. The precious oils are used in aromatherapy, and all kinds of skin care and healing concoctions. Culinary lavenders are used in all sorts of food and drink, too. Of course, the blooms are delicately beautiful, - perfect for a timeless dried arrangement.
Once there were but a few lavender farms in the state, but in recent years lavender farming has grown in popularty, and it's doing very well in Wisconsin. After a bit of research, I discovered there are 16 lavender farms throughout the state. Many of them host events on the farm, have onsite shops, and online shops, too. Summer is the perfect time to visit a lavender farm. For the beauty, for the homemade products, for the tasty treats like lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream. And for all kinds of events hosted on the farms, including yoga classes, art classes, workshops, even classes on how to grow your own lavender.
